How long does it take for my order to arrive?
Every piece is made when you order it — nothing sits in a warehouse waiting. Most items arrive within 5-12 business days from order date. Specialty pieces (glass suncatchers, car tumblers) take longer — about 15-22 business days — because of specialized production methods. Each product page lists its estimated delivery window so you'll know before you order. Free shipping on all US orders.
Why do some pieces take longer than others?
Different pieces require different makers. Apparel, blankets, mugs, and canvas pieces produce and ship quickly from US-based partners. Glass suncatchers and stainless tumblers require specialized UV printing and longer production runs — they're worth the wait, but the timeline is honest. We'd rather tell you up front than disappoint you on day 15.
Can I personalize my piece?
Many pieces accept personalization — names, dates, photos, custom phrases. Look for the customization fields on the product page. If you don't see a field but want one, send a message through Contact and we'll see what's possible.
What if my piece arrives damaged or wrong?
If something arrives damaged, defective, or doesn't match what was ordered, send a message within 14 days of delivery with a photo. We'll replace it or refund — no return shipping required for defects.
Can I return or exchange a personalized piece?
Because pieces are made when chosen and often personalized for you, we don't accept returns or exchanges on non-defective items. We'd rather get it right the first time — reach out before ordering if you have questions about size, fit, or design.
Who actually makes these?
Forged by Grit and Grace is a one-person operation founded by Justin Anderson (pen name J. Vaelorin). Designs are created by Justin and trusted collaborators, then produced by vetted print-on-demand partners in the US. Every order is real. Every piece is made when chosen.
Is this connected to VaelorinVerse?
Yes. Forged by Grit and Grace is the wearable side of the larger VaelorinVerse universe — a dark fantasy world where mental health functions as the magic system. The apparel meets you where you stand. The Universe waits when you're ready to go deeper.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently we ship within the United States only. International shipping is on the roadmap but isn't available yet.
How do I check on my order?
You'll receive an order confirmation email when you place your order, and a shipping notification with tracking when it ships. If something seems off or you don't see updates, reach out through Contact — we'll find the order and tell you what's happening.
Do you do bulk or wholesale orders?
Yes, for memorial services, support organizations, healthcare teams, and first responder units. Send a message via Contact with the piece you're interested in, quantity needed, and timeline. We'll work out pricing and timing.
Can I commission a custom design?
For now, custom commissions are limited — every piece in the shop was designed with intention, and we want new designs to honor that bar. If you have an idea that aligns with the brand's mission (honoring grief, caregiving, invisible weight), reach out and we'll see if it's something we can build together.
