3. REFUND POLICY

A note on made-to-order
Every piece at Forged by Grit and Grace is made to order. We don't pre-manufacture inventory or hold stock — each piece is forged when it's chosen. Many products include personalization (names, dates, photos, custom messages) that make them unique to you.
Because of this, our return policy is different from typical retail. We cannot accept returns for change of mind, sizing changes, or buyer preferences — once production begins on a personalized or made-to-order piece, the materials and labor cannot be recovered.
We will, however, always make it right if something arrives damaged, defective, or wrong on our end.
What we will replace or refund
We will replace or refund items in any of the following circumstances:
- Damaged in shipping — your item arrives broken, torn, cracked, or damaged in transit
- Defective production — a printing error, fabric defect, or manufacturing flaw on our end
- Wrong item received — you received a product different from what you ordered
- Personalization error on our end — the personalization was not produced as you submitted it (different from changes you want to make to what you submitted)
How to report an issue
To report a damage, defect, or error, please contact us within 14 days of delivery at shop@vaelorinverse.com.
Please include:
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Clear photographs of the damage, defect, or error
- The original packaging if relevant to the damage
We will respond within 2 business days with next steps. If a replacement or refund is approved, we will arrange it at no cost to you.
What we cannot accept returns for
- Buyer's remorse — change of mind after ordering
- Personalization errors on the buyer's part — typos, wrong names, wrong dates that match what you submitted
- Sizing concerns — please review size charts carefully before ordering, especially on apparel and home goods
- Color variation from screen — colors may appear differently on different monitors and devices
- Late delivery within our stated shipping ranges — see our Shipping Policy
- Products that have been used, washed, worn, or modified after delivery (other than for the purpose of inspection)
Personalized and custom products
Items with personalization — names, dates, photographs, custom messages, or any made-to-order specification you provided — are non-returnable except for the reasons listed in "What we will replace or refund" above.
This includes (but is not limited to) memorial pieces, pet memorial products, custom name shirts, family tree designs, dog tag keychains, personalized canvases and acrylics, and any product where you submitted a name, photo, or message.
Please review your personalization carefully before submitting your order.
Refund processing
If a refund is approved, you'll be refunded to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval. Please remember it can take additional time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your refund and you have not received it, please contact us at shop@vaelorinverse.com.
Exchanges
Because we are made-to-order, we cannot facilitate direct exchanges. If you want a different product, the fastest path is to contact us about your situation; if your case qualifies for a replacement under our policy above, we'll work with you. For any other exchange need, please place a new order.
European Union 14-day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without justification, in accordance with EU consumer law. The item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with original packaging. You'll need the receipt or proof of purchase. Personalized items remain excluded from this right under applicable EU consumer law exceptions.
(Note: at this time we ship to the United States only. This section will apply if and when international shipping becomes available.)
Order changes and cancellations
Once production has started, we cannot cancel or modify orders. Production typically begins within 12 hours of order placement.
If you need to cancel or change an order, contact us at shop@vaelorinverse.com as quickly as possible after placing your order. We'll do everything we can to accommodate, but cannot guarantee changes after production begins.
Damaged packages
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If anything is wrong, contact us immediately at shop@vaelorinverse.com. The sooner we know, the faster we can make it right.
